Personalised T-shirts UK: St George’s Day T-shirts or T-shirts that celebrate England and all who live there are the subject of this week’s #TshirtTuesday collection. As always the collection has been picked with the theme in mind and, as always, for your t-shirt design and printing inspiration.
St George’s day is the national day of England but unfortunately for you and me, not a public holiday. Because of this, St George’s day celebrations are often low key and sometimes forgotten altogether in England. St George however, was a busy chap and it seems his stories of slayed dragons and sweet maidens made him an attractive patron saint for a country or city and on the 23rd of April he is celebrated all over the world, sometimes with St George’s day t-shirts.
You could have seen St George’s flag dotted around on your travels and one place where you may or may not have noticed the red cross is on the Barcelona football club crest. St George, or St Jordi as he is locally known, is one of the Patron Saints of Catalonia where the 23rd of April is celebrated by the giving of Roses to women and books to men. Around 4 million roses and 800,000 books are sold every year for the celebration.
This year you can celebrate St George’s day at Trafalgar Square with traditional music and food from rustic farmer’s market stalls and on Saturday the 27th, the Royal Albert Hall will play host to the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra as they perform traditional English music, mixed in with some rousing readings from Wordsworth.
If you are planning on attending these St George’s day events or any others around the country then you might like to round of your outfit with one of these St George’s day t-shirts:
