Hello Printsomers!
Like every Tuesday, here we are again with the latest episode of our most popular series, #TshirtTuesday! Where we feature up-and-coming personalised T-shirt brands and interview the designers behind them.
This time around we bring you Osman Mansaray, a young designer that left the tropical weather of Sierra Leone for the more temperate climate of Richmond, US. His brand Stray Together is a love letter to nature and our relationship with it. On this edition, we talk about how he got started with apparel design and why Liam Neeson would (probably) like to wear one of his pieces.
I hope you enjoy our newest #TshirtTuesday.
Note: Would you like to be the next brand featured on #TshirtTuesdays? Here is how you can do it.
#TshirtTuesday: Stray Together
Tell us about you, what’s your name? Where are you from? What do you do?
My name is Osman Mansaray and I’m originally from Sierra Leon, but I currently live in Richmond, US. I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer.
…engagement with the natural world in a respectful and sustainable manner…
When did the idea of becoming T-shirt designer feel like something you could achieve?
Early in 2016 I started posting some of my work on Instagram as a way of making myself draw and share my art more regularly. As my account started to grow and I was getting more and more feedback from people (friends and strangers) I thought I should start offering my designs on T-shirts. Fast forward to Fall of 2016 and Stray Together was born; adventure-inspired hand printed designs from myself and my small team to all those who love adventure, the outdoors, and my designs.
Describe your brand in three words:
GET. OUT. THERE.
Do you have any memorable designs you’ve done?
My favorite Stray Together design is ‘The Spaceman,’ which is an astronaut floating in zero gravity. What makes it cool is that it uses the negative space of the black T-shirt it’s printed on to represent space.

If you could design a T-shirt for anyone, who would it be?
If I could design a T-shirt for anyone it would probable be Liam Neeson; I think I’d have a lot of fun doing it. I imagine he’d like a graphic tee featuring one of the wolves he took down in The Grey. It would be awesome to design a garment like that for him.
What’s next for you?
I’d like to focus on Stray Together. Seeing how we can spread our message of engagement with the natural world in a respectful and sustainable manner and just getting people to get outside and have fun.
Before you leave, Oman, let’s do a quick round:
What have you been listening to lately?
TV on the Radio.
What have you been watching lately?
Parks and Recreation on Netflix.
What have you been reading lately?
Void: The Strange Physics of Nothing by James Owen Weatherall.
What food(s) have you been enjoying lately?
Burger sliders from everywhere that serves them.
What have you been wearing lately?
Sweaters, hoodies, Henleys (and tanks while printing).
Where can people see more of Stray Together?
Our website is straytogether.co and you can also find us on Facebook and on Instagram at the brand’s account and my personal one.

I like the idea of your series. Interviewing the person behind a certain design will motivate designers.
Osman brand statement is awesome, GET.OUT.THERE.
